You've made countless decisions to get your plans this far. Before those drawings become walls, cabinetry, plumbing and electrical, we look at how the home will actually function when you're living there.
The goal isn't to redesign your architect's work.
It's to help you identify the questions, conflicts and opportunities that are difficult to see when you're looking at a two-dimensional plan.

The New-Build Plan Review is an interior-design and livability review. Roo Design Collective is not replacing your architect, engineer, builder, inspector or other qualified project professionals.
The service does not provide: structural engineering, architectural approval, code verification, permit approval, construction approval, technical installation verification. Recommendations affecting structural, architectural, technical or construction matters should be evaluated and approved by the professionals responsible for those areas.

01When should I have my plans reviewed?
The best time is after you have a meaningful plan to review but before every decision is considered final.
Ideally, there is still enough time for your architect, builder and other project professionals to evaluate changes before construction makes them significantly more difficult.
02Can you review plans my architect or builder already created?
Yes.
That's exactly how most New-Build Plan Reviews will work.
We're not starting over or replacing the work that's already been done. We're adding an interior-design and everyday-living perspective before the plan moves further into construction.
03Are you replacing my architect?
No.
Your architect and other project professionals remain responsible for the work within their professional scope.
Roo's role is to review the home through an interior-design and livability lens and help you identify questions, priorities and recommendations to discuss with your team.
04What kinds of things are you looking for?
We look at how the home is likely to function when real people, furniture and everyday routines are added to the drawing.
That includes areas such as circulation, furniture placement, room proportions, kitchen and bath function, storage, doors, sightlines, lighting and electrical considerations, and the relationship between different spaces.
05What if my plans are already finalized?
You may still benefit from a review if your project team says meaningful changes are still possible.
The later the project is in the process, however, the fewer practical options may remain.
Tell us where you are in the process on the inquiry form and we'll determine whether the review still makes sense.
06Is this interior design?
Yes—but it happens earlier than many homeowners think of interior design.
We're using interior-design thinking to evaluate how the house will function, flow, furnish and feel before construction is complete.
The review does not provide architectural, structural or engineering services.
07Can you help us with design after the Plan Review?
Yes.
The New-Build Plan Review can be a standalone service, but it doesn't have to be the end of our work together.
If you'd like help carrying the design forward, Roo also offers Guided Build Support, interior design, renovation services and select virtual design services.

You don't need to upload anything with your first website inquiry.
Once the project is booked, we'll request your current plan set, household and lifestyle information, important furniture considerations, relevant reference images and the questions or concerns you already have.
09How long does the review take?
The standard New-Build Plan Review has a 10-business-day turnaround once the project is booked and Roo has received the complete plans and information needed to begin.
For homes larger than 5,000 square feet, turnaround is quoted separately based on project size and complexity.
The review period does not begin when the initial website inquiry is submitted.
10Where do you work?
Roo Design Collective works locally with homeowners throughout Central Arkansas.
The New-Build Plan Review and select design services are also available virtually, so we can work with homeowners anywhere.
